Symptoms of Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma can occur on the soft tissue surrounding the lungs (pleural mesothelioma), on the soft tissue surrounding the abdomen (peritoneal mesothelioma), in the lining around the heart (pericardial mesothelioma), or in the testicles (testicular mesothelioma).
Symptoms of mesothelioma largely depend on where the tumor exists, though some symptoms are common in most types of mesothelioma.
Pleural Mesothelioma Symptoms

- Shortness of breath

- Hoarseness
- Difficulty swallowing
- Reduced chest expansion (difficulty breathing)
- Unexplained weight loss

- Muscle weakness
- Swelling of the face and arms
Peritoneal Mesothelioma Symptoms
- Abdominal pain

- Abdominal fluid buildup (ascites)

Pericardial Mesothelioma Symptoms
- Difficulty breathing (dyspnea)
